JConcepts SuperCup Rd 3

JConcepts Super Cup Rd 3 was held at Rotonda Raceway in SW Florida. The weather was great with 76 entries, the track conditions were set for the electric battle. The track developed a very large blue groove by the time the main events came for some great racing. In 1/8 electric buggy the battle raged between Team Associated driver JR Mitch and VP-Pro USA driver Gene Hickerson. In round 1, it was Hickerson who put his Losi 8E on the pole with VP-Pro Ultra Flexx Axman. In round 2, it was Mitch who took TQ with his RC8E despite claims of track cutting during the qualifier. In the main event, Mitch took the hole shot with Hickerson on his bumper. Mitch clipped a pipe allowing Hickerson by. Hickerson's VP-Pro Medium Flexx Turbo Trax were hooked up and he went on to stretch a 13 second lead and took the win. Finishing 2nd was Mitch with VP-Pro USA driver Scott Blaney in 3rd, also using VP-Pro Medium Flexx Turbo Trax.

VP-Pro and CEN Win Big in Florida

Team VP-Pro USA continues to dominate Florida by taking TQ & 1st place in 1/8 Pro Arena Truck and 1/8 Pro Buggy at Round 2 of the RC Pro Florida State Series. Round 2 was held at Machine's R/C Off-road Club in Rotunda West, Florida. The highly technical track was very grooved up for the 3 rounds of qualifying and the main events all run Saturday night. Defending Arena Truck Series Champion, Joey "Batman" Perez, was on it again by taking TQ in the first 2 rounds with Medium Flexx Turbo Trax on his truggy. Gene 'the machine' Hickerson took TQ in round 3 also using Medium Flexx Turbo Trax. In Pro Buggy, the defending Series Champion Hickerson, also took TQ by having the fastest times in all 3 rounds. Hickerson used Medium Flexx Turbo Trax on his buggy during qualifying. The 45 minute Arena Truck A-main saw Batman and the Machine run away with the race as they battled for the lead while both using the all new Low Flexx STR Turbo Trax. Perez and Hickerson went on to take a 1-2 finish for VP-Pro USA. The pro buggy A-main was cut to 20 minutes due to the threat of rain. Hickerson took the early lead and went on to put the field 3 laps down and take an easy win using Ultra Flexx Mad Runner/Cutoffs on his buggy. VP Pro USA

The Colossus

After what seemed to be a very long drive back home ~you know like the ones from the Hobby Shop, even if your located a short five minutes away~ I propped the Target bags of goodies on my official Juiced RC Review desk and proceeded to remove the silver briefcase that held my brand new Radline RC Colossus! Carefully slowing down the opening of the packaging to prolong the excitement. A little trick we learn for holidays, unwrapping bright colored boxes as if to remain in “Excitement” forever…

Pine-Land R/C -Middle Georgia

Opening May 9th 2009!

The ground was broken by Jon Tanner and crew in late March. The Pine-Land R/C area including R/V Parking is clear! The driver stand is framed. The local power crews are set and working this week to bring in power. While the rest of us RC Enthusiasts here in Georgia are “Pining” to get a chance at the track you see to the left. Located in middle Georgia this rc race track is sure to have a long run. With 12 to 15′ wide track width complete with long speed burm and sand pit, and plenty of bumps and jumps to test any pilots license. The lighting has been nailed down with new power running into the track for lights, pits, and R/V hookups. This is sure to be an insane place to compete, and most of all have fun!

I don't know about you but the top sites that provide information for track lists are just that- lists. In the 1/8th truck class it was top qualifier Adam Drake(Middle), running the Losi 8ight T 2.0, that took the win from CEN's Own "Mean"Gene Hickersen, with Losi team mate Mike Truhe in 3rd! Psycho Nitro Blast went off without a hitch! What a weekend - Once again the nitro was thick and the ego's were even thicker. We are now turning our sites back to the local racing with the Georgia Championship series on the way, Georgia Pro Series and a host of other points, cash and trophy races. The Relapse

The list of RC Racers is building for the Psycho Nitro Blast! It looks like the Sportsman Classes have taken the lead on total entries. The Psycho Nitro Blast had a few "Pro Drivers" show up last year. With Travis Phillips already on board and looking for his Psycho Nitro Blast Relapse, I am sure the field will be just as tough as the track! We have invested a good sum of money on BIG exhaust fans. Ventilation will be much improved. The issue is that we have is 24 hours of practice, qualifying and then jump right into the mains. The track never gets a break or the air for that matter. All other indoor races that i have been to take breaks during the day and close the track at night. NOT at PNB 2, ITS AROUND THE CLOCK ACTION for 3 days straight. This year we will be taking small breaks during friday practice for track maintanance and to clear the air. The fans WILL move the air in the facility so for qualifying and the mains air quality will be good. One other point to make is that we have one of the largest portable drivers stands that i know of which is 40 feet long and can hold 22 drivers. That means there are 22 cars out on the track at one time which produces lots of exhaust. I was in the timming and scoring booth at 3am Sat. morning and there were 20 guys practicing. Thats what it is all about and we have a system that can handle the fumes this year. We also understand the dirt better so look for a killer racing surface.

I spent a lot of time here in Atlanta, Georgia racing my RC Car around the pine trees about 20 years ago. Atlanta's own Sugarbowl was the spot to go, and I believe Bolink had a clay oval. The South East Region has come along way in growing the grass roots racing scene with several rc off road race tracks in the area.

The Electric Racers have almost completely transitioned out of town to places like South Carolina, Florida, basically everywhere else when it involves racing. The big gripe with electric, much shorter run times, smaller tracks and the list goes on. Take a nitro buggy like the Cen Matrix C-1 RTR. I was completely happy with this vehicle and still am. I wanted to find a vehicle that would run fast and true right out of the box! And being money conscious I did not want the it to BREAK my pocket right from the start. After buying my 1/10 truck last year and realizing I would have to travel to race (Thanks local Hobby Shop Guys for telling me this, after the truck was sold). So figuring out in the Georgia RC Racers Forum with the help of local 1/8 racers i quickly realized there may be hope for this sport yet! I looked at buggies ranging from $199 to $1000. And in this group of products I also narrowed the search by price and Ready to Run Kits. Finding only the ones that would actually be competitive right out of the box without breaking the bank was another story all together. What is the psycho nitro blast? A group of good ol nitro boys decided to take there love of the sport to a new level. They start by staging a 24 hour around the clock practice, then follow it up with 24hr around the clock qualifiers? There has to be a Marine in this somewhere. They have sleep deprivation, a volatile environment (for the participants, and there gear), put an insatiable appetite to be 1st, well you get me...!

The inaugural 2008 psycho nitro blast had a over 300 entries, with the anticipation of a much bigger turnout for 2009.

Qualifying:

Drivers meeting and the posting of heats will be held at 8am. Qualifying will start at 8:30am

Qualifying format will be as follows:

3 rounds of 10 minute heats running for 24 hours non stop.

qualifying points will be in effect with a re-shuffle after round 1

ModHobby is hosting this event, the list of sponsors keeps growing, I expect The PNB to be another HUGE SUCCESS!

The primary focus of Cen Racing East is the South Eastern States. While I have minimum links on the page keep in mind this is a informational site. The focus is not making money. And at this point you would ask "Why then?" -Call it " The Matrix C-1 RTR"
